NFP is looking to hire Accounts Receivable Accountant; this role offers 100% remote flexibility.
The Accounts Receivable Accountant will have oversight and responsibility for all Accounts Receivable balances within the Region as well as support for billing operational procedures and any offsetting premium payables. Specific responsibilities will include assisting the field on billing issues, monthly reconciliation of the Accounts Receivable balances, tracking and managing all aged account balances and providing the Producers and Account Managers necessary reporting for collection procedures.
ESSENTIAL CORE ACCOUNTING FUNCTIONS
· Ensure AM’s are receiving and reviewing their AR reports timely and following up on aged items
· Send report or link to dashboard in EPIC to all AM’s by BD 10
· Follow up with each AM by BD 20 with a focus on all aged items
· Run weekly reminder collection notices
· Work with the Regional Controller on monthly AR Reserve and write-off procedures
· Support acquisition accounting regarding AR balances on opening balance sheets and the need to have collected prior to the final working capital calculation
· Support regional system conversions ensuring all closing balances in legacy system come into Epic appropriately
· Educate the Service teams with NFP’s preferred billing methods:
· Direct Bill for all clients eligible (generally those with <$20,000 annual revenue)
· Annual billing ONLY for Agency Bill (eliminate installment billing)
· Premium Financing
· Support the field with cash on account posting
· Run Advance Report and work with AM’s to clear the debits and the credits
· Review Bad Debt write off’s to send to collection agency
· Collaborating with the AM’s and AOC to resolve billing disputes
· Implementing and maintaining internal controls to ensure compliance with company policies and accounting principles
· Process vendor forms and W9 requests
· Assist in the documentation of procedures and processes and implementation of consistent and "best practices" in A/R
· Review premium payable aging and research payment history, clearing credit balances or offsetting items
