Position Description
The Aircraft Mechanic is responsible for servicing and maintaining the company’s business jet fleet, tooling, and ground support equipment. This role also involves assisting with hangar facilities maintenance, supporting Aircraft Cleaner duties, and acting as Crew Chief for specific aircraft to ensure airworthiness and conformity to type design.
Responsibilities
- Perform towing, ground handling, fueling, cleaning, and de-icing of company aircraft.
- Handle aircraft departures and arrivals:
- Assist flight crew in departure preparation.
- Perform post-flight inspections and servicing as needed.
- Support passenger baggage handling and ground transportation.
- Conduct scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, including troubleshooting and repairing discrepancies.
- Serve as Crew Chief for assigned aircraft:
- Ensure compliance with maintenance schedules and documentation.
- Manage aircraft maintenance publications, return-to-service procedures, service bulletins, and airworthiness directives.
- Perform servicing tasks such as loading navigation databases, downloading trend monitoring data, battery servicing, and general maintenance tasks.
- Support Aircraft Cleaner in performing interior and exterior cleaning, waxing, lavatory servicing, and trash removal.
- Comply with company-managed OSHA and HAZCOM programs and procedures.
- Assist with hangar and facility upkeep:
- Clean hangar floors and maintain facility cleanliness.
- Order and manage hangar supplies.
- Service and maintain ground support equipment:
- Tugs, snow blowers, de-ice carts, external power carts, man lifts, and floor scrubbers.
- Attend technical schools and seminars as required.
- Collaborate with the Chief of Maintenance and Assistant Chief of Maintenance to perform assigned duties.
- Execute additional tasks as directed by the Chief of Maintenance, Assistant Chief of Maintenance, or Director of Aviation.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant Certificates
- Minimum of 3 years maintaining business jets
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications
- Being able to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Having strong mathematical skills
- Knowing about aircraft materials and their properties
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to safety and quality
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Physical ability to perform tasks involving lifting, climbing, and operating equipment
- Strong time-management and organizational skills
