Andaz Miami Beach is now recruiting a Assistant Rooms Operation Manager to join the hotel’s opening team. An art-deco building and architectural landmark is home to the newest luxury lifestyle hotel located in the heart of Mid-beach. Opening in late 2024, the property boasts 287 guestrooms including 34 breathtaking suites and the ONLY Ocean-view arrival experience in Miami Beach. The design features elements of texture, art, and pops of color that create a unique and captivating experience. Each suite is designed with floor-to-ceiling windows, most with deep-soaking tubs, and cozy reading nooks. Guests can also enjoy private outdoor terraces with stunning views of the Atlantic and the Miami skyline. Unmatched amenities include a full-service spa, a well-equipped fitness center, a destination dining experience by José Andrés, two pools, and a Beach Club catering to the who’s who of Miami. Spanning 25,000 square feet of innovative indoor and outdoor event space, Andaz Miami Beach will become a landing spot for guests and locals seeking celebratory gatherings that embrace the city's culture of music, art, and fashion.

Assistant Rooms Operation Manager

The Assistant Rooms Operation Manager is responsible for supporting the supervision of Front Office and Housekeeping operations, including Front Desk, Guest Services and Housekeeping departments. Key responsibility areas include department performance, staff training, staff development, cost control, and increased sales and profitability.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND POSITION FUNCTIONS

· Deliver excellent customer service in an efficient manner.

· Maintain guest room and guest supply inventory.

· Ensure that inspection program is consistently maintained

· Coach and Counsel Employees, and provide progressive and ongoing training.

· Ensure cash handling and all accounting policies and procedures are being followed to hotel policy.

· Maintain consistent and efficient line of communication between appropriate departments.

· Analyze, investigate and resolve guest opportunities.

· Confers with all appropriate departments regarding handling of groups, unusual circumstances or special requests.

· Coordinates the status of Out of Order and Out of Services rooms with Housekeeping and Engineering

· Respond to special requests with unique needs and follow up with the guest or vendor to ensure satisfaction.

· Gather, summarize and provide information about the amenities, specials events, and activities taking place within the hotel.

· Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day.

· Completes and processes all employee payroll punches

· Review and noting all special requests of guests.

· Ensure all front office and housekeeping colleagues are completing all assigned tasks and checklists.

· Take, record, and rely messages and notes accurately, completely, and legibly

· Communicate pertinent guest information to designated departments and personnel

· Provide assistance to the all front office staff when needed

· Must ensure the front office areas are clean, organized and tidy

· Maintain complete knowledge of the property:

o F&B outlets ( Hours of Operation, Cuisine, and location )

o Room types, numbers, layout, décor and locations

o Room availability, daily house count and turnover

o Any in-house groups, events and activities

o Housekeeping and laundry techniques and technology

· Maintain appearance and uniform standards

Qualifications

· High school diploma or equivalent required

· Minimum 1-3 years of prior front office supervisory or management role

· Luxury hotel experience preferred.

· Managing a team of 10 + is preferred Experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel, required.

· Knowledge of Google Apps preferred

· Previous experience with OPERA highly recommended

· Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal.

· Conversational abilities in Spanish and Portuguese favorable

· Will be required to stand or walk for an extended period of time.

· Will be required to view and work on a computer screen and telephone for an extended period of time
