Full Job Description
Quad is seeking a Business Area Manager to work in the Press Area at our West Allis, WI location. The job duties for this position include but are not limited to:
- Plan, direct, and coordinate the activities of hourly manufacturing, temporary labor, and support employees in the finishing department to meet customer requirements of quality and delivery schedule.
- Audit equipment and production floor for safety, quality and productivity concerns, and correct as necessary.
- Train, coach, engage production employees. Schedule and conduct shift meetings.
- Hold employees responsible and accountable for their performance.
- Responsible for shift schedules to include: workstation assignments/rotations, employee training, employee vacations, employee breaks, overtime assignments, and coverage for absent employees.
- Conduct employee performance reviews.
- Coordinate production activities with other departments.
- Ensure asafe work environment and enforce all safety policies and procedures.
- Give direction to staff for optimum performance, providing technical and organizational leadership as it relates to daily production requirements.
- Effectively communicate with other functional areas and department leaders.
- Field emails/calls from customer account managers and sales representatives and respond to their requests promptly and professionally.
Qualifications Education and Experience:
- HS diploma or equivalent and 3 to 5 years of supervisory experience.
- Experience in large format printing and Binder experience preferred. Other complex manufacturing disciplines will be considered.
- Demonstrated ability to train, develop, and provide guidance to staff.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Tools (Outlook, Word, Excel) and office equipment.
- Experience in Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement methodology.
- Must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and possess good follow-up skills and excellent communication and organizational skills.
