Your Opportunity as the Coordinator, Distribution Center
This position will provide daily communication with Customer Service, Carriers, Guards, Drivers, and all Distribution Staff. Position is responsible for accurately and timely checking carriers into the facility for both shipping and receiving. Position must maintain scheduling of dock doors; check order progress; assist with order release; ensure accuracy of all shipping and receiving documents.
Position will be responsible for email correspondence, data entry, and utilizing all other operating systems necessary to perform job.
Location: Topeka, Kansas
Work Arrangements: On Site- Normal work schedule: Saturday through Monday 6am-6pm
In this role you will:
Research any short allocation items, provide updates and move inbounds to door for immediate receipt when needed. Minimize detention through first-rate dock management. Maintain accurate notations using proper communication channels.
Ensure accuracy of all shipping and receiving paperwork prior to receipt and ship confirmation. Provide troubleshooting for operators to resolve any discrepancies or issues with loads to avoid overweight's, shortages and guarantee customers are properly invoiced. Upon completion of loads, timely sign carrier/drivers out, dispatch shipments and close receipts to maintain accurate inventory levels.
Utilize the following operating systems: WMS Client, Red Prairie, Fed Ex Portal, PowerlinkG3, IMI, Discoverer Reports, Outlook, Excel, and Word. Participate in 2025 changeover to Smile80 and Blue Yonder WMS operating systems.
Follow all company policies including GMPs food safety and BRC standards. Assist team and facility in performing all necessary actions in compliance with quality hold procedures to ensure accountability of hold product.
All other tasks as required.

The employee should be able to maintain a constant awareness of the appropriate and proper personal hygiene for a food manufacturing facility, be able to read and follow standard operating procedures (SOPS) and work instructions (WI) to produce a safe and quality product that meets or exceeds our customers' expectations. Employees shall also be aware that our customers may request additional measures to be taken in quality and food safety systems such as those put forth in the Global Food Safety Initiative that include the British Retail Consortium (BRC).

Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required
Bachelor's degree is preferred
At least 1 year (inclusive of internships) of practical experience working in a Warehouse / Distribution Center is required.
Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems like Red Prairie, Discoverer, IMI and e2open is preferred.
Excellent Communication Skills: Written, Verbal and Computer
Knowledgeable in MS office applications with heavy utilization of Outlook and Excel
Must understand and follow all standard operating procedures (SOPS)
Must understand and follow all Job Safety Analysis and Safe Practices
Must Understand and follow all Good Manufacturing Practices for The J.M. Smucker Company - Topeka
Must understand and follow all food safety and BRC guidelines
