Where will you work: Onsite – Durham, NC (100 Capitola Drive, Suite 305, Durham, NC 27713).
This role is responsible for the overall sales plan, which will be in alignment with the Mosaic Biosciences North America (”MBNA”) business plan, strategies, and objectives. This position is also responsible for leading the execution of the sales plan to meet the sales budget and market access strategy. North America represents a key growth geography, and this position is expected to accelerate, enhance, and improve sales performance in both the US and Canada.
This position is responsible for leadership and collaboration with key stakeholders to successfully achieve revenue and gross profit contribution targets. Cross collaboration includes working with Mosaic fertilizer commercial leaders, marketing, supply chain/operations, agronomy, regulatory, finance and HR.
What you’ll do?
- Business Management – Manage revenue and gross profit, productivity, and market share growth, ensuring annual KPI’s (leading and lagging) are tracked and reported monthly/quarterly. · Owns and develops the Go-to-Market strategy and responsible for execution to accelerate growth. · Develops and owns the implementation of the sales process to generate demand expectations aligning with current and future company growth aspirations. · Manage the sales demand plan and work hand in hand with production to ensure product availability. · Ensure compliance of sales and related activities. Coordinate MBNA objectives. Contribute to and lead strategic, focused interaction with other leaders to efficiently and effectively execute the overall strategy for The Mosaic Company and the Region.
- Sales and Customer Relationship Management – Responsible for building and maintaining customer relationships, ensuring team set’s and maintains high standard of relationship demonstrated through effective partnerships and value creation. Sets the sales structure, lead the team and provide guidance to meet and exceed targets, by developing and executing strategic and tactical sales plans through defined methodologies, customer information utilization and account objectives. Monitor sales performance on a regular basis and track deviations, take corrective action to rectify shortfalls and prepare weekly/monthly sales reports against key KPIs, both leading and lagging indicators. · Analyze competitor sales techniques, products, identify market trends and opportunities, and generally keep on top of the industry. · Responsible for managing product mix and new product launches to achieve desired goals and objectives. Attend Mosaic’s Ag College to liaise with North American customer participants.
- Annual and Strategic Planning – Analyze the North America biological market and develop the budget and sales plan. · Create an annual to deliver and or exceed against financial targets. · Allocate sales targets and demand creation targets to the team based on area, volumes etc. Own the five-year revenue, rebate, and SG&A budget process.
- Forecast sales based on industry and historical data – Identify new markets to be developed and target markets to focus on, while creating the plan to meet those targets. · Help create the future through bold planning and execution.
- People Management – Build a high performing team, with organizational structure to deliver growth. · Provide leadership, coaching and mentorship to the sales team. · Ensure that high potential team members are groomed to take on higher responsibilities. · Motivate the team to achieve set targets. Ensure the development of the members of the sales team and ensure that they receive periodic training to optimize their performance. Set clear and measurable objectives.
What you’ll need:
- A Bachelor’s Degree required in Agriculture, Business or related field
- 15+ years in Agriculture Business
- Master's degree preferred in business or agriculture related.
- Strong business acumen.
- Ability to inspire people to take calculated risks while developing the long term business vision
- Strong sense of urgency to move key initiatives along while paying attention to details and accuracy of execution
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate with middle to executive management.
