Summary

This position is located in the United States Mint in Philadelphia, PA in the Manufacturing and Support Divisions. The incumbent directs project management activities, serving as a General Engineer with responsibility for directing project management and related execution activities involved with the acquisition, design, development of specifications and standards, equipment layout, planning and installation, commissioning, training, life-cycle engineering and integration.

Duties

The following are the duties of this position at the GS-13. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.

  • Responsible for the planning, development, direction, execution, and implementation of complex manufacturing and engineering processes, methods, standardization and procedures on plant systems
  • Controls on-going production related projects, taking positive action in managing and coordinating the efforts of government and industry participants
  • Oversees, redirects when needed, and monitors plant production work in progress
  • Serves as the agent in the administration of policies, regulations, and engineering; and provides such information locally to field sites
  • Provides professional expert advice to facility staff and management on questions and projects

Qualifications

The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or . One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. - Experience applying principles, concepts, and process improvement techniques in a manufacturing and/or production operations; AND
- Experience independently resolving production, labor, machine, and material conflicts or issues.



Specialized experience for the GS-12 grade level is one year of experience at the GS-11 grade level or equivalent, which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position is defined as:

-Experience performing project management with experience of building systems and/or manufacturing processes.
