Summary


This position is located at US Mint,Manufacturing Directorate - Philadelphia - Facilities Management Division. As a General Maintenance Supervisor you will serve as the manager of the Utilities Section of the Facilities Management Division and reports to the Facilities Management Division Chief, with responsibility for the design, installation, testing, troubleshooting, repair, monitoring, and preventative maintenance of all facilities related equipment and the physical plants at the Mint.

Duties

The following are the duties of this position at the GS-13. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties and will receive training to help you grow in this position.

  • Practices sound position management when assigning work, combining, or separating duties, establishing, or abolishing positions, and fulfilling other personnel management duties and responsibilities.
  • Oversees, develops, and evaluates technical information related to the job and advises others on technical issues.
  • Serves as the resident expert and technical authority consultant to management on engineering operations decisions, new design projects, status of equipment, capabilities of current facilities staff, integration of facilities and utility systems, modifications of existing facilities, equipment and utility systems, and technical contract problems regarding purchase requirements and specifications.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or . One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. For the GS-13 - you must have one year of experience at the GS-12 level in the federal service or equivalent that is directly related to the position, and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience includes the following:

- Experience troubleshooting and maintaining major facility systems to include HVAC, Electrical, and Wastewater; AND
- Experience evaluating the work performance of subordinates; AND
- Experience assigning work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of the assignments, and the capabilities of subordinates; AND
- Experience developing, planning, and implementing both short and long-term goals, procedures and plans.



For the GS- 12 you must have one year of experience at the GS-11 level in the federal service or equivalent that is directly related to the position, and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience includes the following:

- Experience troubleshooting major facility systems to include HVAC, Electrical, and Wastewater; AND
- Experience assigning work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of the assignments, and the capabilities of subordinates; AND
