Description:Lockheed Martin Missiles & Fire Control is seeking an experienced geospatial applications engineer with the ability to manage challenging projects, develop strong customer relationships and help grow our commercial geospatial products business.
What You Will Be Doing
The successful candidate will work within a team to design, develop, deliver, and support software and workflows that solve our customers' varied challenges.
Responsibilities will include integration of MFC software across multiple teams and sites and development/testing of geospatial workflows to process large scale geospatial data on HPC systems.
The candidate will also support requirements development that drive our technical roadmap, while also identifying new opportunities that help shape our business.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Development of geospatial workflows for processing geospatial data
* Integration of MFC geospatial software within customer systems
* Work with the team to develop Geospatial Technology technical roadmap
* Contribute to the requirements evolution and integration of the software used in global geospatial data production
* Subject matter expert in geospatial data concepts, processing methodologies and techniques.

Further Information About This Opportunity:
The position location is Greensboro, NC.
Basic Qualifications:
* B.S. degree in Geography, Computer Science, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), or related Geo-Science or Engineering field or equivalent experience
* 5+ years of geospatial experience
* Experience running/developing workflows for Lockheed Martin's Rosetta3D/OpenRosetta3D Geospatial Processing Engine
Desired Skills:
* Extensive data production, formatting and manipulation experience with Digital Elevation Models, Satellite Imagery, Point Clouds and Derived Datasets (Vector/Raster, PCs and 3D Meshs) used in large scale correlated databases.
* Exposure to formats: ntf, tif, laz, heif,, copc, xml, cog, shp, gpkg, json, jp2k, pbr, rpb
* Geographic Image Mosaic Production
* Experience with Geospatial software products: Global Mapper, QGIS, ENVI, ERDAS, ESRI, etc.
* Experience with Geospatial Libraries: GDAL/OGR, GEOS, PROJ, numpy, fiona, shapely, pandas, etc
* Linux Experience
* Experience writing automation routines: python, bash, powershell, etc.
* Matlab Mapping Toolbox a plus.
* Works effectively within a team with minimal direction
* Enjoys a high tempo environment and is motivated to create.
* Excellent communication skills
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Clearance Level: Secret

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
