Managing multiple projects across 2-3 brands, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Innovation, Design, Project Management, Packaging Development, Production, Brand, Product Development, and Operations. In this role, you will proactively identify challenges and provide cost-effective solutions to deliver high-quality, premium packaging.
Responsibilities- Design standout packaging that amplifies brand strategy, aesthetics, and messaging.- Provide leadership by fostering a culture of creativity, teamwork, adaptability, and problem-solving.- Apply deep knowledge of beauty trends to create eye-catching designs for product launches, PR kits, social media assets, swag, and collaborations.- Ensure the timely development of high-quality, innovative packaging that meets marketing briefs, customer expectations, manufacturability, and 360-degree brand objectives.- Build strong cross-functional partnerships across innovation, design, packaging development, marketing, product development, and operations.- Lead productivity initiatives to optimize packaging processes and drive cost-saving opportunities.- Champion sustainability initiatives, including material reduction, post-consumer recycled resins, lightweighting, and eco-friendly packaging solutions.- Maintain consistent packaging design principles in alignment with production standards.- Oversee collaboration with package development and the China-based development team, ensuring seamless sample development and modifications.
Skills & Qualifications- Extensive knowledge of package development, preferably in prestige beauty.- Strong typography skills and attention to detail.- Ability to think quickly, pivot, and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment.- Excellent communication and presentation skills.- Proven experience collaborating with design teams, packaging developers, engineers, and vendors.- In-depth understanding of prestige beauty manufacturing and materials, including plastics molding and carton construction.- Knowledge of sustainability best practices for packaging components, cartons, and decoration.- Strong ability to prioritize and manage a substantial workload while proactively communicating with Project Managers.
Requirements- Bachelor's degree in a related field.- 7+ years of experience in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment, preferably in fashion, beauty, or technology.- Up-to-date knowledge of fashion, beauty, design, digital trends, and the Gen Z audience.- Experience collaborating with in-house digital teams, visual merchandising, and/or e-commerce.- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop.- Experience with e-commerce personalization and UX/UI design is a plus.- Art direction experience in the beauty industry is a plus.
