Position Title: HR Generalist

Compensation:

Full-time, Salary Grade E45

Scope & Responsibilities of HR Generalist: (Not limited to)

This role assists in administering different aspects of the HR function such as administering company payroll, recruitment and onboarding, training delivery, compensation and benefits while following the organization's policies and procedures. This position will report to the Director Human Resources.

Education & Experience for HR Generalist:

Associate degree in human resources or business management preferred plus 1-3 years related experience or High School diploma and 3-5 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be willing to participate in continuing educational courses via home study, seminars, etc. as required to stay abreast of state and federal regulations, benefits, etc.

Other Qualifications of HR Generalist:

  • Serves as the local point of contact for timecard entry questions, employee status changes, employee benefit changes, leaves of absence and other payroll adjustments.
  • Provides support in functional areas of HR including but not limited to recruitment and onboarding, employee records, employee relations, performance management, compensation management, benefits administration, leaves of absence and training coordination.
  • Provides administrative support to the top management team, especially the President/COO.
  • Assists in the planning, development and communication of informational material to the organization and Board via email, intranet, ADP and/or Time Entry homepage.
  • Responsible for input, maintenance, and extraction of employee information from the various database systems utilized by HR.
  • Processes paperwork for functional areas of HR according to established procedures including but not limited to matching gifts program, training attendance and course information records, training/internship grant invoicing, recruiting schedules, new employee/termination checklists, team Amazon purchases, etc.
  • Serves as a point of contact for random drug screening documentation and MRO documentation.
  • Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resource functions and ensures labor law posters are current
  • Ensures policies, procedures and reporting are in compliance for annual EEO-1 report and generating information necessary for annual reports of employee benefit plans.
  • Builds and maintains a positive image of the organization through relationships with stakeholders, media and the public.
  • Manages corporate giving requests, invoices, memos, employee census and turnover reports, organizational chart, seniority roster and other documents
  • Coordinates student visits from local secondary schools and colleges which includes attending career fairs to attract talent.
  • Responsible for the organization of various employee events including annual benefits open enrollment and service awards.
  • Designs, develops, implements, coordinates, and facilitates company mandatory training programs as well as non-mandatory but role specific trainings identified by area manager. Evaluates training effectiveness. May function as the subject matter expert (SME) for ARG's learning management system (LMS).
  • Payroll Competencies: Data Entry, Payroll Tax Compliance, Direct Deposit Administration, Garnishments and Levies, Pay and Bonus Calculations and Timesheet Auditing.
  • HR Competencies: Employee Data Management, HR Policy Administration, HR Regulatory Compliance, Human Resource Management Systems (experience with ADP Workforce Now and Adherence to Confidentiality).
  • Administrative Competencies: Planning and Organization, Prioritization, Internal/External Communication Skills (including presentation skills), Scanning Accuracy and Customer Service.

Physical & Cognitive Demands of HR Generalist:

Meet deadlines, focus attention, work independently, use independent judgement, work with a team, communicating, reading comprehension, critical thinking/troubleshooting. Some travel.

Physical Demands: seeing, speaking, hearing, sitting, walk/climb, stand/reach, listen, writing, driving, keyboarding. Push/pull/lift/carry 25 pounds.
