The Manager, Awards & Rankings (Manager) will be an integral member of the Goodwin team responsible for overseeing awards and rankings initiatives globally. The Manager works directly with fellow marketing and communications colleagues, members of the firm’s Global Operations Team and firm lawyers to manage Goodwin’s legal directories and awards processes. They will help develop awards and rankings strategies and assist in the creation of award-winning submissions, press releases, firm profiles, and website content. The Manager reports to the Director of Communications.
What You Will Do:
Create and manage a global awards and rankings schedule that tracks relevant recognitions at the firmwide, practice group, and individual level and aligns with the firm’s strategic goals and business objectives.
Manage the firm’s global legal directories submissions process, primarily focused on Chambers and The Legal 500.
Draft and edit Goodwin firm profiles in the relevant rankings and directories across relevant geographies.
Lead management of the submissions process and ensure adherence to deadlines, in partnership with client development.
Analyze, research and provide guidance to partners and other attorneys on firm profile-raising opportunities to pursue, and how best to approach nominations and submissions.
Coordinate the collection of data and maintain internal databases to reflect the most up-to-date firm rankings and recognitions.
Assist in the drafting and editing of award-winning nominations, press releases, articles, interviews, and social media content.
Who You Are:
4+ years of corporate communications (preferably in the legal/professional services firm) or journalism experience
Undergraduate degree or equivalent
Master’s degree a plus
Strong project management and process implementation skills; high proficiency in Excel and other data management software
Excellent writing and editing skills
Ability to communicate complex information with confidence and clarity to a variety of audiences in formal and informal settings
Effective interview skills
Demonstrated ability to generate ideas for awards submissions, website and social media content
Proven abilities to navigate in a matrixed global organization
Strong research skills
Impeccable attention to detail
Proficiency in use of relevant computer applications and familiarity and comfort with GenAI enabled tools
