This position will be overseeing all Process Engineering teams to support at our Promontory Utah campus for the Nozzle Value Stream.

Role description & Responsibilities:
This Sr. Engineering Manager position will be directly responsible for two Process Engineering organizations that support Solid Rocket Motor Operations for Nozzle: Tape Wrap/Machining and Bond and Assembly/Flex Seal manufacturing processes. This responsibility includes Process Engineering activities for all NG Nozzle operations at Promontory including two managers and approximately 35 engineers.
This includes the following:
• Develop, communicate and implement strategic vision, strategy, goals and metrics to achieve business objectives for safety, quality, customer satisfaction, schedule, cost, and continuous improvement.
• Represent and communicate PcE technical capabilities and technologies to internal and external customers.
• Oversee the day-to-day Process Engineering activities accomplished through subordinates to ensure effective pre-production readiness, real-time floor support, and effective, compliant, streamlined processes.
• Work with Operations, Engineering, S&MA, other internal and external organizations to ensure process readiness, on-schedule production operations, zero-defect hardware, and real-time issue resolution.
• Direct, develop and implementation of continuous improvement objectives within the area to improve safety, improve product quality, decrease product cycle time, reduce costs and strategically prepare for the future.
• Ensure strong and open relationships with senior leadership, employees, and other technical organizations including other groups in PcE, Operations, Tooling & Facilities, S&MA, Science and Engineering, and Program Management.
• Ensure leadership and key subject matter expert succession plans are in place and be proactive by coaching and mentoring key talent to assume increased responsibilities
• Ensure all Process Engineering activities are performed in compliance with Propulsion Systems Process Engineering disciplines.
• Foster a strong workplace culture of safety, technical excellence, professional development, personal accountability, and enjoyment.

Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, or technical discipline with 12 years of experience in an aerospace manufacturing/engineering environment.
• 5 years minimum demonstrated experience leading and building engineering teams.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with all levels of Operations, Program Management, Engineering, S&MA, functional organizations, and all other business personnel.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities, including the ability to coach, develop and mentor others.
• Broad understanding of NG command media, including the importance for compliance.
• Experience with resource planning and managing to a budget.
• Outstanding communication skills and use of M365 suite, and proficient in business systems used in Process Engineering (ESI, Costpoint, TcUA, SmartSolve, Primavera, or equivalents.)
• Experience with employee hiring and work allocation, performance evaluation, improvement plans, employee career development, interpersonal problem solving, etc.
• Ability to acquire a Secret security clearance.
• Travel expectation of 1% - 5%.
Preferred Requirements:
• 7+ years of demonstrated successful employee leadership experience - including experience managing large scale organizations of 20 or more individuals
• Experience working government and commercial programs
• Experience with MRP demand-driven operations management systems (Costpoint, SAP, etc.)
• LEAN manufacturing and process improvement experience
• Experience in implementing affordability initiatives that improve product quality, drive down overall cost, and/or improve schedule
• Experience in supporting Root Cause & Corrective Action analysis using multiple methods such as fault trees, Kepner Trego analysis, 5 Why's, etc.
• Graduate degree (MS, MBA, PhD) in engineering or related technical discipline
• Hands-on experience developing and managing budgets with fluency in earned value management and proven history of effectively managing the budget for an organization.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present and communicate with a broad range of audiences (operators, department leaders, and customers).

Salary Range: $161,500 - $242,300
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
