As a Materials Testing Design Engineer I, here at Honeywell, you will have the opportunity to develop your understanding of Aerospace materials, coatings, and components using destructive, non-destructive, and/or predictive methods, while working closely with some of the worlds most talented engineers to mature materials and coating technologies for Aerospace applications.

You will report directly to our Coatings and Additive Design Engineering Manager and work 100% onsite out of our Honeywell's Aerospace facility in Phoenix, AZ.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work hands on in an engineering lab environment supporting thermal testing and/or processing of Aerospace materials
  • High temperature testing
  • Oxidation/corrosion lifting
  • Materials characterization
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Relocation support may be provided

U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • 1+ years of experience within Material Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics

WE VALUE

  • Bachelor's degree in Material Science, Materials Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience running computational materials engineering software (e.g., ProCast, Thermo-Calc, etc.)
  • Experience working hands on in a test lab, or similar environment
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Experience in working with and leading small teams
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with other organizations and individuals at all levels
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint, MS Teams, and Outlook
