Purpose Statement
The Meatball Machine Operator is responsible for the efficient operation of meatball production machinery to ensure high-quality product output while maintaining safety, cleanliness, and compliance with company and regulatory standards. This role involves machine setup, operation, troubleshooting, and routine maintenance within a fast-paced production environment.
Key Accountabilities and Outcomes
- Set up and operate meatball machines in accordance with production schedules and product specifications.
- Monitor machine performance to ensure consistent production flow and product quality.
- Adjust settings and perform minor troubleshooting to address production variances.
- Inspect meatballs to ensure they meet size, weight, and quality standards.
- Regularly monitor temperature, pressure, and other parameters during the production process.
- Record and report any deviations or defects in production to the supervisor.
- Conduct routine cleaning and maintenance of machinery to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with maintenance personnel to address mechanical issues.
- Follow preventative maintenance schedules and procedures.
- Adhere to all food safety and hygiene standards, including wearing appropriate PPE.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).
- Follow all health and safety regulations to minimize risks.
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and quality assurance staff.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions as needed.
- Assist in other production tasks as assigned to meet operational needs.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in a food production or manufacturing environment preferred.
- Familiarity with operating food processing machinery is an advantage.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to operate production equipment.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Capability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working in a cold or humid environment.
- Basic math and record keeping skills.
