We have an opening for a Media Intern. We have multiple positions and locations available; please refer to all openings posted and apply to the locations that are most suitable to your living situation during the course of your internship. This is not a remote position. Considering this model, this role could be based in the following cities:

About EPX at DLR Group 
Each person who works at DLR Group has a design voice, and we can’t wait to help you define and amplify yours. Whether it’s through a design charrette, a client meeting, an internal project review, or working through a building detail, you’ll learn the nuts and bolts (ha!) of putting together a building, while being part of something larger than yourself. You will gain experience on projects large and small, in various phases of construction. We also hope to give you experiences outside of the typical internship in your discipline – from helping on a business development or marketing pursuit, planning an event for your office, or sharing your ideas on what the future of design services looks like. 

Position Summary

As a Media Intern, you will have the opportunity to join a growing media and public relations team responsible for raising awareness of the DLR Group design brand. As an integral part of our integrated marketing and brand strategy, you will engage in a well-rounded role that fosters growth and creativity.    

Our Summer Internship Program is a paid, full-time opportunity running from May 20 through August 8, 2025, with an opportunity for extension. Interns are expected to participate for the full duration of the program. This is a valuable opportunity to learn, grow, and make a meaningful impact by contributing your design voice to our brand promise of Elevating the Human Experience. 

What you will do:

  • Develop Press and Project Materials: Write and edit press releases, thought leadership features, media pitches, fact sheets, social media posts, project narratives for award submissions, and summaries that help promote our brand, projects, and people.
  • Industry Research: Research relevant trends to identify opportunities for thought leadership and create media lists to help support public relations initiatives.
  • Monitor Press Coverage and Build Reports: Monitor press coverage and develop results reports for stakeholders.
  • Update Project Info in CRM: Maintain accurate project details in Vantagepoint Customer Relationship Management (CRM), ensuring all information is current.
  • Support Integrated Marketing Team: Assist with the development and execution of public relations campaigns from start to finish, support design teams and collaborate with marketing on various initiatives.  

Required Qualifications: 

  • Recently graduated or enrolled in a Bachelor of Marketing, English, Journalism, Public Relations, Communications, or similar major.
  • Highly effective writer capable of producing succinct, key messages, project stories, and technical approaches responsive to the audience.
  • Collaborative, strong communicator able to work with a wide spectrum of personalities.
  • Self-starter who can calmly manage multiple projects and produce high-quality materials under tight deadlines.
  • Strong GPA and Student Organization Involvement considered.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without need for work visa or residency sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with media tools (Muck Ruck, Cision, Meltwater, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite and asynchronous collaboration tools such as SharePoint
  • Experience writing original content such as blog posts and thought leadership pieces.

The suggested pay range for this position is:

Pay Range$18—$20 USD
