Volunteer Opportunity- Museum Shop Retail Sales
Summary: To assist the Museum Shop staff on a weekend schedule in greeting and assisting customers with merchandise selection in the Shops and assisting Shop staff with completion of the sale. May include restocking and cleaning as needed
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Greet and assist customers on the sales floor primarily in the Main Shop, but during busy times could be posted in the Taylor Hall Shop as well. Assist customers with the selection of gifts, jewelry, textiles, children’s gifts and books, books, art supplies and other merchandise.
• Assist customers in the dressing room and with merchandise in the area of the dressing room.
• May be asked to assist at times outside of regular weekly schedule for events and special programs including Member Sales, Art in Bloom, Member evenings, and other events.
• This is a weekly commitment. The shift time is from 11:00 am- 2:00 pm
Qualifications: A bright, motivated and outgoing individual with good communication skills, and the ability to work with the public. Minimum commitment of one 3-hour shift weekly required. Retail experience preferred. Periods of standing, bending, and light lifting required.
