The purpose of the position is to provide logistical support for the fire department's pharmacy program and ensure compliance with a wide range of state and federal guidelines and requirements. This position maintains strict documentation, ensures that stations and apparatus are stocked with the necessary medications and supplies, and ensures the system is operated effectively and efficiently.

TYPICAL TASKS

• Checks quantity and quality of inventory items received against invoices and reports discrepancies; unpacks and stores schedule drugs and materials in accordance with 18VAC110-20-710; enters inventory into database.
• Performs inventory as required by the Code of Virginia.
• Delivers and retrieves Schedule II through VI drugs, supplies, and materials.
• Restocks shelves and cleans storeroom as required.
• Performs routine tasks, such as recordkeeping, data entry, report preparation, supplies maintenance, faxing, phoning, emailing, and copying.
• Orders replacement of controlled substances, pharmaceuticals, and intravenous fluids.
• Maintains cleanliness of vehicle, consisting of washing the outside and cleaning the inside. Checks vehicle for operational problems, and schedules maintenance.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
