About the Postdoctoral role:
A Postdoctoral Associate position is available in the laboratory of Youxing Jiang, HHMI Investigator and Professor in Physiology and Biophysics at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. Jiang lab utilizes structural biology, electrophysiology, proteomics, and cell biology imaging tools to study the structure and function of membrane ion channels and transporters. What You Bring:
PhD in biochemistry, biophysics, molecular biology, cell biology, or a related field is required.
Relevant research experiences and skills include but are not limited to protein expression and purification, membrane protein biochemistry and reconstitution, proteomics, structural biology (single particle cryo-EM, cryo-electron tomography, or x-ray crystallography), cell biology imaging techniques, and chemical biology.
Ability to work optimally with a wide variety of people from all backgrounds and at all levels of training.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
High level of integrity and excellent interpersonal skills.
Positive demeanor with a problem-solving, resilient approach to research.
Ambition, self-motivation, and a strong sense of intellectual responsibility and ownership over your work.
Physical Requirements
Remaining in a normal seated or standing position for extended periods of time; reaching and grasping by extending hand(s) or arm(s); dexterity to manipulate objects with fingers, for example using a keyboard; communication skills using the spoken word; ability to see and hear within normal parameters; ability to move about workspace. The position requires mobility, including the ability to move materials weighing up to several pounds (such as a laptop computer or tablet).

$70,000.00 (minimum) - $80,500.00 (midpoint) - $91,000.00 (maximum)Pay Type:
AnnualHHMI's salary structure is developed based on relevant job market data. HHMI considers a candidate's education, previous experiences, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity when making job offers. Typically, a new hire for this position in this location is compensated between the minimum and the midpoint of the salary range.
