Who will you be working with?

This position is located in our small, but growing, manufacturing and overhaul/repair facility located in Greenville. We primarily manufacture and overhaul components for the transit industry (subway and commuter rail). We have been in operation for over 50 years and offer fantastic benefits and stable work environment.

How will you make a difference?

As a member of Transtech, you will be responsible for:

  • Guaranteeing from tender to Start Of serial Production on assigned projects: Supplier QCD, Purchasing Cost Control, fulfilment of Project needs.​
  • Improving project contract margin through sourcing: RFQ, Supplier selection, contracting, supplier management in project, savings opportunities (PPI), QCD risks​
  • Deploying APQP as per quality guidelines, esp. Team Feasibility Commitment at supplier selection​

What do we want to know about you?

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with knowledge and understanding of MRP process.

    · High School graduate with at least 5 years of related experience; a bachelor’s degree in business, Management or Supply Chain preferred.

    · Excellent computer skills (MS Office).

    · Knowledge and previous experience working with Oracle preferred.

    · Work schedule to accommodate global supply chain.

    · Able to exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.

    · Excellent interpersonal and effective communication skills including ability to influence and negotiate.

    · Able to manage time well, handle and prioritize multiple tasks, and complete them with a strong sense of urgency.

    · High standards of integrity required.

    · Team player attitude.

    · Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

    · Certifications by APICS (CPIM) or by ISM (CPSM or C.P.M.) is preferred, but not required.

What will your typical day look like?

BID SOURCING​

  • Define Bid-BOM: Be involved upstream, launch studies and price estimation during tender phase​.
  • Prepare back-to-back clauses​.

IMPROVE THE PROJECT CONTRACT MARGIN:​

  • Challenge the Bill Of Material in order to propose price and cost reductions. Use standard R&D products​.
  • Integrate (in contract and development phase) Service’s needs: no private label, performance and price for Spares parts​.
  • Aligned with Global / Regional Commodity strategies:​
  • Launch RFQ on selected supplier panel, manage negotiations (inform Commodity managers and receive their support when required)​
  • Evaluate offers and select the supplier with approval of SQ, Project Manager, Commodity manager and inform Engineering, Supply Chain and Services sourcing​.
  • Guarantee Project contract signature, according to DoA​
  • Enter sourcing rules in ERP (at project start, then maintain by site sourcing specialist in serial life)​
  • Manage the project suppliers and the project purchasing QCD improvement action plan (Backward planning management, BOM follow-up, risks and opportunities, set up material delivery plan with supply chain)​
  • Enable sourcing in Low-Cost Countries and liaise with appropriate commodity teams (through regional commodity focal point). Improve TCO.​
  • Manage changes (e.g. ECR) with the suppliers, after final offer​
  • Manage purchase contracts and charge back in project phase​.

DEPLOY APQP:​

  • Deploy Group Standard APQP with the help of SQE​.
  • In the scope of his or her projects, organize and manage technical reviews with technology partners: Supplier Quality, Engineering and Supply Chain to formalize the Team Feasibility Commitment at supplier selection and guaranty the achievement of the Technical Specification​
  • Manage the transition from project to production phase with Industrialization audit, PPAP and EI acceptance, handover to Commodity team and site sourcing specialist​.
  • Participate proactively in improving the Group purchasing performance​.
  • Deploy the Group project purchasing reporting​
  • Supplier QCD in project execution​
  • Material cost reduction: Project CMIP​
  • Panel Compliance rate​
  • % RFQ spend in LCC and should cost pipeline​
  • Execution cycle time (from Sourcing Committee to FAI approval)​
  • Ad-hoc reporting to Regional Services Sourcing leader, when assigned to a CS project​
  • Regional Commodity management​
  • Product Management, Bid manager and Core team, Product Line Engineering​
  • Suppliers​

Mental Demands: While performing the duties of this class, the employee is regularly required to use written and oral communication skills; read and interpret data, information and documents; analyze and solve problems; use math and mathematical reasoning; observe and interpret situations; learn and apply new information or skills; and interact with other employees, customers and vendors.

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The salary range for this role is between

$67,400.00-$96,000.00

The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. More information on offered benefits, which include health, welfare, and retirement, are available at mywabtecbenefits.com. Other benefit offerings for this role may include an annual bonus, if eligible.
