A Brief Overview

The Mossé laboratory (https://www.research.chop.edu/people/yael-p-mosse) is a multi-disciplinary team focused on translating basic laboratory discoveries into new effective therapies for children with cancer, with a focus on neuroblastoma. Dr. Mossé is a physician-scientist with a highly translational laboratory program largely focused on genetic susceptibility, somatic mutations including clonal evolution, drug development, and clinical trials. The Mossé Lab now seeks an experienced research technician to join our dynamic multidisciplinary team focused on developing novel assays to evaluate the activity of targeted protein degraders against childhood oncoproteins, and ALK immunotherapies for pediatric cancer patient populations with high unmet needs. The technician will be responsible for performing independent experiments, optimizing assays, as well as collecting, analyzing, interpreting and presenting data. He or she will be exposed to a broad range of experimental approaches covering the entire developmental process genomics and new immunotherapies.

Prior experience in immunological, biochemical and molecular biology techniques preferred. Techniques include, but are not limited to: PCR, flow cytometry, cell culture, cloning, vector production, immunological assays, protein engineering, mass spectrometry, single-cell sequencing, genome editing using CRISPR-CAS9, analysis of next generation sequencing data and bioinformatics.

Research Technician IVwill participate in development of therapies intended for clinical translation. Individuals will have the opportunity to develop independent projects and execute them under direct supervision. Technician should exercise discretion and judgment in execution and interpretation of experiments, and of data derived

What you will do

  • Independently perform routine and more complex experiments under the direction of supervisor.
  • Formulates and performs complex lab experiments and analyzes/ reports the data, including interpretation of methodologies
  • Independently performs tasks that require knowledge of advanced techniques and lab equipment
  • Perform calculations and maintain careful documentation.
  • Assist with planning research experiments.
  • Prepares laboratory reagents, monitors and maintains laboratory inventory
  • Compile data and maintain organized lab notebook.
  • Attend courses, seminars, and lab meetings to expand knowledge of research and laboratory techniques.
  • Assists in writing of grants, journal articles, posters and oral presentations

Education Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Required

Experience Qualifications

  • At least three (3) years of classroom and directly relevant and progressive (increasingly complex/ advanced) lab experience Required

Skills and Abilities

  • Advanced proficiency in various research and/or analytical techniques. (Required proficiency)
