About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Lead Fixed Income Trader to join St. Louis team. This trader is responsible for making markets in one or more fixed income products and the execution of proprietary (principal) or agency capacity trades across product categories.
In this role, you will:
- Manage and execute complex and large transactions independently and/or contributes to the formulation of product trading strategies
- Guide traders, trading assistants and those other Capital Markets team members in support of trading activity, strategic and other operational, regulatory or risk business activities and/or may be directly responsible for complex operational, technical, regulatory, risk, unique to Capital Markets Trading
- Facilitate the execution of municipal securities on a principle basis using market and credit knowledge
- Utilize market intelligence, trend analysis and retail demand data to commit firm capital while seeking opportunities that benefit the Financial Advisor and retail clients
- Provide liquidity and municipal products that assist Financial Advisors in meeting the client’s investment objectives
- Manage inventory risk daily and ensure adherence to all firm and regulatory requirements.
- Enhance and deepen relationships with business partners through trading opportunities
- Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique trades, issues, policies or procedures which require in-depth evaluation companywide, delivering solutions that are long-term, large-scale and require vision, creativity, innovation, advanced analytical and inductive thinking, and coordination of highly complex activities and guidance to others
- Provide vision, direction and expertise to leadership on implementing innovative and significant business solutions
- Provide subject matter expertise in policies, procedures and compliance requirements
- Strategically engage with all levels of professionals and managers across the enterprise and serve as an expert advisor to leadership
Required Qualifications:
- 7+ years of Retail Fixed Income Trading experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- Successfully completed Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) Series 7 and 63 or 7 and 66 examinations (or FINRA recognized equivalents) sufficient to qualify for immediate FINRA registration
Desired Qualifications:
- FINRA registration including Series 52 (or FINRA recognized equivalents)
- FINRA registration including Series 24 (or FINRA recognized equivalents)
- 7 years of municipal trading experience
- Bloomberg trading experience
- Demonstrated experience making decisions regarding complex trading strategies
- Experience guiding and leading junior traders
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
- Demonstrated professional written and verbal communication skills
- Analytical capabilities, attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important
Job Expectations:
- This role requires working in the assigned office location and does not allow for remote work or hybrid schedule.
- Obtaining and/or maintaining appropriate Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) license(s) is required for ongoing employment in this position. In addition state registration, specific product licenses or SAFE licensing may apply. Additional requirements include meeting enhanced financial fitness and criminal background standards. Wells Fargo will initiate the FINRA review process at the time of offer acceptance. For specific FINRA qualification exams obtained after 9/30/2018, the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam co-requisite may also be required.
