Northrop Grumman Space Systems - Launch and Missile Defense Systems has an exciting career opportunity for a Sr Principal Engineer Systems - Global SE (25-073) to play a crucial role in our mission. This position will be in Colorado Springs, CO. , or Huntsville, AL.
Position Overview:
The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program integrates the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. president, secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations, to see the battle develop collectively, and to dynamically manage designated networked sensors and weapons systems to achieve global and regional mission objectives. C2BMC supports a layered missile defense capability that enables an optimized response to threats of all ranges in all phases of flight. C2BMC is the force multiplier that globally and regionally networks integrate, synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations to optimize performance. C2BMC is integral to all system ground and flight tests, which verify and exercise all current and future missile defense system capabilities.
The candidate must be flexible and can support various tasks on short notice. Work will be performed under the direction of the C2BMC-G Team Engineering Manager and Product Owner, and supporting multiple project engineers requires interfacing with team members, C2BMC management, and government customers to ensure high-quality products are generated on time and within the available resources.
Essential Functions:

• Perform requirements elicitation using behavioral artifacts such as use cases that are used both to understand and convey an understanding of the required behaviors and performance of the system
• Support the development and review of interface documents, system requirements, Verification Cross Reference Matrix (VCRM) development, architectural documentation, engineering estimates, and author and perform formal and informal engineering reviews
• Responsibilities include adhering to DOORS processes and procedures, reviewing the content and details of technical products, and acting as a technical interface to MDA working-level counterparts as required
• Actively involved in the efforts associated with Agile development, including iteration planning, start using, and supporting Agile team leadership
• Excellent communication skills are required, as is the ability to communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings
Salary range for Huntsville: $131,100 - $196,700
Salary range for Colorado Springs: $124,900 - $187,300
Basic Qualifications:
Please note your updated security clearance and IAT/relevant certifications on your resume, if applicable.

• Bachelor's Degree in a STEM Computer Science, Science, Technology, Engineering, Software Engineering, or Mathematics discipline preferred from an accredited university and 8 years of related work experience or a Master's degree (preferred) in a related STEM discipline and 6 years of related work experience, or PhD with 4 years of related work experience
• Applicants must have a current active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start
• 5+ years of experience working in an integrated team environment with other systems and specialty engineers to develop solutions that include a background in all systems development life cycle aspects
• Must have demonstrated contributions to implementation that include the ability to analyze high-level needs and define a structured and logical approach to refine the capability into an integrated set of requirements that have led to a fielded product
• Must have demonstrated the ability to communicate effectively, clearly present technical approaches and findings, and have experience writing and implementing project engineering plans
• Must possess an understanding of systems engineering processes and principles
• Must have a proven track record of successfully applying system engineering principles to develop product solutions
• Must have experience in requirements elicitation, including using behavior diagrams as an analysis tool to understand and decompose requirements

System Architecture Descriptions
Trade Studies, etc.

• Must have experience working in an integrated team environment with other systems, software, and specialty engineers to develop solutions
• Must have experience working within an Agile development environment, experience with Systems Analysis, Metric Development, and Architecture development
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% to support business needs
Preferred Qualifications:

Certification: INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) Certification is highly desired
Certification: Object Management Group Certified Systems Modeling Professional - Model Builder Fundamental (OCSMP - MBF) is highly desired
• Space and Terrestrial sensor and Missile Defense System prior experience and familiarity are desirable

Salary Range: $124,900 - $196,700
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
