Job Description
The Supervisor – Production is responsible for supervising and coordinating daily duties of hourly associates engaged in manufacturing activities focused on high efficiency, safety, food safety, quality and cost metrics.
What your day will look like:
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the UNITED policies and applicable laws
- Interview, hire, and train associates
- Plan, assign, and direct work
- Appraise performance
- Address complaints and resolve problems
- Builds positive associate morale
- Develop hourly associates as leaders to help in directing work area
- Actively supervising and directing associates on the production lines to build their skills while working toward continuous improvement
- Enforce and comply with all Company policies and procedures
- Reviews records for accuracy of information and compliance with established procedures and to determine adequacy of stock levels
- Issues written and oral instructions
- Effective use of all maintenance operating systems up to and including Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and Production Line Monitoring System (PLMS)
- Strong collaboration with other production support teams
- Performs appropriate duties as assigned by management
What you need to succeed:
- Minimum age 18 years old
- Valid driver’s license required and obligation to maintain compliance with UNITED fleet policy
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by position and compliance with UNITED safety policies
- Regular and prompt attendance is an essential function of the job
- Ability to read, write and speak English
- Ability to maintain a neat professional appearance within Company guidelines
- Ability to maintain safety and security of Company assets
- Ability to utilize all Company provided resources and technology
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Proven ability to coach and manage needs and concerns of multiple associates
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and 3 to 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Willingness to work weekends, holidays, or flexible schedule as required
- Proficient knowledge in the operation of continuous motion packaging, filling, and palletizing equipment
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure
- Ability to effectively adapt to change
- Frequent walking/standing
- Frequent exposure to water, weather, and noise
