Press Operator-Rapid City

The Rapid City Journal is seeking a full time press operator to join the team that prints multiple newspapers and commercial print orders for the region.

Although we are seeking an experienced web press operator, we will train the right person who displays aptitude to learn.

The idea candidate will:

• Be quality oriented
• Display a mechanical aptitude
• Ability to distinguish colors
• Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines; work well under pressure
• Work well in a team and independently as needed
• Be able to work nights and weekends
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Primary duties include:

• Put plates on press; monitor printing; identify and correct printing defects
• Fill and clean ink fountains
• Set rollers
• Clean web detectors; clean and maintain presses
• Other duties as assigned
